About Jenna

I am a CA state licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.) and a Nationally certified Diplomat of Oriental Medicine (Dipl. O.M.).  I graduated Summa Cum Laude with my B.S in Fitness and Cardiac Rehabilitation /Exercise Science from Ithaca College in New York.  After graduation I worked as Medical Assistant in a Cardiology practice in Hartford, CT.  Looking for a more integrative approach to health care, I then went on to obtain my M.S. from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (PCOM).  During my time at PCOM, I worked with HIV/AIDS patients at UCSD’s Owen Clinic and also with NCAA athletes at the UCSD campus.  In 2006 I had the opportunity to travel to Beijing, China to study in several area hospitals with Traditional Chinese Medical Doctors.  In 2008, I had another amazing opportunity and was able to travel to Uganda to volunteer with the PanAfrican Acupuncture Project. While there, I trained both Traditional health care workers and hospital nurses how to utilize Acupuncture to help treat the symptomology of HIV/AIDS, TB, and Malaria.  I also traveled to refugee camps at the southern border of Uganda to treat refugees from several neighboring African countries.

I worked with Neuro Acupuncture Associates in Carlsbad, CA inside of  an internationally-renowned, non-profit Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation center called Project Walk for 2 years.  At the center, the clients undergo intense rehabilitation exercise, coupled with acupuncture and massage therapy to improve their quality of life.   I used Zhu’s scalp acupuncture combined with both Zang-Fu  and Motor Point Acupuncture to provide relief from pain and improve functionality.  Zhu’s Scalp Acupuncture works by stimulating the scalp that corresponds to areas of the brain that control function in the area of the body where the paralysis exists.

I recently relocated to Walnut Creek, CA and am now co-owner of Earth and Air Wellness with Laura Metzdorff, L.Ac.  Our new clinic is conveniently located in downtown Walnut Creek on N. Main Street.  We are currently accepting new patients.
